Chapter Seven

Sienna stared out the window of her hotel room. Linc had insisted she had been through enough herself, talking to the girls about her ordeal. After the group meeting was concluded with Linc and the girls, Linc had asked Lou to take her back to her room. He wasn’t comfortable just yet with Sienna being left alone with the girls even after she insisted she didn’t feel threatened by them. Marx and Dalton agreed that she come back tomorrow after the girls had time to talk amongst themselves about the alternatives Linc had given them.

“If you choose to leave here, you won’t be safe from Manny and his men looking for you. And I can’t guarantee your safety once you leave. You can’t go to the police and tell them about me. If you leave, you’re on your own again. I will make sure you have enough money to get you back on your feet again. And if you choose to stay, I will get you the psychiatric care you all need in order to move forward. I will make sure no one harms you ever again. You are in no way prisoners here while you live under my rules. Rules will be enforced for your safety and nothing more. I will return tomorrow and expect an answer from each and every one of you.”

The day she was attacked the police showed up and found Mr. Miller dead in his bedroom. Linc and Sienna were taken in and questioned after police arrested George Nado and charged him for murder in the first degree and attempted rape against Sienna. George got life in prison without parole. Sienna didn’t want to go back into foster care so she told Linc she was running away and for him to not try and find her. Linc didn’t allow that to happen. The two had been living on their own since they were fifteen.

A knock at her door broke her out of thought. She walked over to see what Lou wanted. But it wasn’t only Lou who stood there in the hallway. Marx and Dalton stood holding a bag of Chinese food.

“They said you invited them over,” Lou questioned.

She took a step back to allow them to enter the room. “Thank you, Lou. You can go home and get some sleep now. You know I will be fine as long as they are here and you know I won’t be needing your services for the rest of the night.”

Lou snickered as she closed the door behind Marx and Dalton. The aroma of food permeating the air was making her stomach ache. She hadn’t eaten anything all day and was just about to order in room service.

“How did you know I was starving?” She walked past them and grabbed a bottle of water for herself from the mini fridge. “Water, soda or something to go in your soda perhaps?”

Dalton reached out. “Soda is fine with me.”

Marx sat on the couch and nodded to her. “Soda is fine with me as well.
